Korean food are best shared with friends, so whenever we hangout with friends, we often pick Korean restaurant and this time we chose to visit 88 Korean Kitchen near Senopati area.

Surrounded by lots of Korean restaurant, 88 Korean Kitchen serves more casual modern dishes like Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki, etc, the kind of dish that goes well with alcohol drinks. Upon arriving, we were given complimentary crispy mini shrimps that were so addictive.

Tender slices of pork belly cooked in thick bold sauce in medium level of spiciness. You’ll get the savory and subtle sweet taste on each bite but you won’t get bored of it since the seasoning was well balanced. The tofu slices play a major role in toning down the bold rich taste.

Buldak Super Spicy with Rice Ball IDR 190k
Buldak means fire chicken so as the name suggests expect to get the fiery spicy taste from this dish. The chicken, onion, and rice cake were cooked in spicy sweet sauce, personally we found the seasoning a bit overwhelmingly bold after two or three bites. On the other hand, we really like the rice balls, it has a nice fragrant from seaweed and sesame oil.

Fried Chicken Half & Half IDR 180k
Fried chicken seems to be their signature and most popular menu, there are 3 options: original, spicy and soy sauce, you can order half or whole chicken portion. AnakJajan opted for half spicy and half soy sauce.

The fried chicken came in beautiful golden color, we can tell that they pay a good attention in cooking it. It was juicy tender on the inside while crispy on the outside. As for the seasoning, the spicy one was more on the sweet than spicy, on the other side the soy sauce seasoning was impressively good, savory with subtle sweet taste in it, must try!

Seafood Cheese Tteokbokki IDR 170k
The seafood tteokbokki or rice cake dish came in festive portion with clam, squid, and shrimp. The seasoning is more on the sweet side with medium level of spiciness typical tteokbokki seasoning. It was decent but not memorable.
