What makes you miss Hong Kong the most? For us that would be DIMSUM!! Serving Cantonese fusion noodle & dimsum, the newly opened Wan Treasures makes an interesting dining option in Pantai Indah Kapuk area, just perfect to satisfy cravings for Hong Kong food in Jakarta.
Both noodle and dimsum are Wan Treasures’ specialty, they have plenty of options from classic all time favorites to new innovative fusion creations. One of the major things that caught our attention would be their unique food presentation, here are some of the signature and popular items that AnakJajan’ve tried.
Hongkong Style Milk Tea IDR 28k
Presentation on point, instead of serving it with ice, they put the drink inside a bucket of ice to keep the drink cold without being watery. Taste wise was quite good with nice balance of tea and milk without being too milky since we can still taste the tea aroma.
Black Roe Hakau IDR 58k
Classic hakau or prawn dumpling with modern twist using prawn, roe and black truffle paste filling. The unusual combination surprisingly tasted delicious, you’ll get a nice crunchy texture from the prawn and popping texture from roe in each bite with subtle truffle aroma.
Spicy Mozzarella Pork Siewmai IDR 38k
Instead of clasic siewmai, AnakJajan got the fusion one with spicy mozzarella on top. Surprisingly the topping and siewmay complemented each other nicely, love the chunks of meaty pork inside.
Crispy Prawn Chang Fen IDR 48k
This one was easily our top favorite. Sooo good, we might consider it as one of the tastiest chang fen or chong fan in town. The rice noodle roll has a nice soft delicate texture filled with crunchy yet chewy deep fried dough with juicy generous prawn inside, served with soy sauce. MUST ORDER!
Pan Fried Foie Gras Pork Siewmai IDR 78k
A luxury version of siewmai with foie gras on top (approximately 15gr of foie gras). The siewmai itself was juicy and very meaty with chunks of pork meat inside.
Golden Salted Egg Pao IDR 28k
Classic taste with modern presentation. The taste of salted egg filling was spot on with perfect balance of sweet and salty taste, love it!
Fried Durian Pao IDR 35k
The deep fried bao looks sooo cute, inside it has sweet durian paste, sweet and fragrant.
Cream Cheese Onde IDR 45k
THIS ONE IS DA BOMB YUM! The bite size onde has a nice chewy texture with sesame seed for aroma and crunchy texture, inside they filled it with smooth cream cheese, best enjoyed in one mouthful for creamy flavor explosion.
HK Style Pork Chop Mozza Baked Rice IDR 78k
This classic dish brings back the good memories we had in Hong Kong. It tastes exactly the same as our expectations. Rice was nicely fried with nice wok-fry aroma, then topped with tender pork chop, tomato based sauce and cheese, nicely executed!
Truffle Pork Soy Noodle IDR 83k
Of course, a visit to Wan Treasures won’t be complete without trying noodle since it’s one of their specialty. AnakJajan always love the springy texture from thin noodle a la Hong Kong. Here in Wan Treasures, they have dry or soup version.
AnakJajan opted for their dry version, the noodle was thin yet springy, seasoned with light soy based seasoning and topped with pork, pork rind, egg, truffle paste and dumplings. Everything complemented each other nicely in one harmonious flavor, the dumpling was honestly mind blowing good with juicy shrimp and roe inside. For extra flavor kick, you can put a bit of chili sauce.
Overall, our first visit to Wan Treasures left us a nice impression. Good flavor, innovative dishes, beautiful presentation, definitely will be back for more especially the dimsum.
