Beverage business trend is growing rapidly in recent years, it gets bigger and more creative. Out of many new beverage brand, Gooma has caught our attention thanks to their different and unique concept, that’s why AnakJajan think it’s worth sharing on the blog.

Uji Matcha (original) IDR 30k, Taste of Ginza (watermelon) IDR 30k

There are tons of new beverage brands popping out these days, with so many options honestly we have become very picky when it comes to deciding which brand to try. We’re sure you’re like that too.

You can find Gooma at Mall Kelapa Gading 1, The Breeze BSD, PVJ, 23 Paskal, and Junction Sumber Sari at this moment with more outlets coming soon.

The seating area feels more zen since they put it in the back so we can enjoy our drink without getting distracted by passerby.

Gooma means “to fall in love with matcha”, no wonder they have plenty option of Matcha based drinks along with tea and a few of other options such as chocolate, coffee, lemonade, etc.

For milk, they have Premium Creamy and Skim Light milk with adjustable sweetness level from 130% to 30%. If you like to chew, they have topping options too: Chia Pudding, Matcha Pudding, Grass Jelly, Coffee Jelly, Aloe Vera.

Since matcha is their signature, AnakJajan tried quite a lot of their matcha based drinks. One major plus point is the use of good grade of real matcha, as we can see they freshly whisk the matcha based on order. Do you know that matcha with better quality tastes less bitter?

The original Uji Matcha has strongest matcha taste since they use double shots. The aroma of matcha is delightful, complemented nicely by milk for smooth mellow milky sensation without any unpleasant bitter aftertaste.

If you’re not a fan of matcha because you’re afraid of the bitter taste, we can assure you that it’s worth trying because it’s not that typically assumed low grade bitter matcha.

Taste of Ginza with watermelon milk and Rose Blossom with rose milk have unique characteristic with more subtle matcha taste, we enjoyed the sweet aroma from watermelon/ rose milk.

Indo Matcha with pandan taste surprisingly goes well with matcha too, we ordered additional Matcha Pudding topping and enjoyed the silky jiggly pudding texture so much.

Mojo Matcha (banana) IDR 30k, Aloe Matcha (aloe lychee) IDR 30k

Mojo Matcha with banana milk has the least matcha taste with more dominant banana milk aroma (in a good way). If you like Korean banana milk, you’re going to fall in love with this.

Aloe Matcha is Mr. Jajan’s top favorite since it’s very refreshing with no milk and nice aloe vera chunks in it. Fyi, you have to shake the drink evenly first before consumption.

Royal Milk Tea IDR 20k(S) / IDR 25k(R), Okinawa Milk Tea (jasmine) IDR 20k(S) / IDR 25k(R)
Gooma’s milk tea drinks are honestly very impressive! Usually tea aroma is quite subtle in milk tea drink, but it’s different in Gooma.

Even though it’s milk tea, we can still enjoy the nice tea aroma in it. We tried Royal Milk Tea hot version (the tea aroma is more pronounced in hot version) and jasmine based Okinawa Milk Tea in iced version.

Both are my top favorites! Me and Mr. Jajan personally prefer it with Skim milk and 30% of sweetness.

Blue Magic IDR 30k, Black Kumquat (charcoal kumquat) IDR 25k
Blue magic is suitable for anyone who loves creamier milky drink as it reminds us the taste of ice cream or gelato. The blue color comes from butterfly pea flower tea.

Black Kumquat is a refreshing combination between charcoal and kumquat, it’s fruity sweet and tangy altogether, typical refreshing drink that Mr. Jajan loves.

Kokuto Matcha (brown sugar) IDR 30k
Matcha and brown sugar turns out to be a lovely combination too. AnakJajan highly recommend you to order it with their silky jiggly Grass jelly IDR 6k since it goes really well the flavor characteristic of brown sugar.

Overall, AnakJajan can clearly see that instead of only following trend, Gooma sets a different standard by focusing more on enhancing and creating their own signature, that explains the tasty and different drink creations. When it comes to matcha and milk tea, Gooma has easily become our top favorite, we heard that they’re going to launch more new seasonal drinks, looking forward to try it.
