Renting classic retro or vintage clothes is the new trend among locals inspired by the latest K-drama Mr. Sunshine on Netflix. As we walk down the street and alleys in Seoul we travel back to 1940s.

Ikseondong is the new happening area filled with tons of unique cafes and restaurant inside the small alleys. If you visit this area, you will notice so many visitors wearing pretty vintage clothing that’s because thanks to Mr. Sunshine K-drama, 1940s vintage clothes are in high demand.

Just recently, our talented photographer friend Rufus https://www.instagram.com/rufusazarya/ contacted us for a quick photo session in vintage clothes and the photos are too pretty not to be shared on the blog. It feels like we’re having prewedding again after getting married for 5 years 😀 THANK YOU RUFUS for these pictures! We love it so much!

Anyway, to answer your question about the boutique, the name is Kyungsung Clothes 경성의복 located in Ikseon-dong, you can check the address & map below.

Since the vintage cloth rental was arranged by our photographer friend, we don’t know detailed info and couldn’t share too many details about it. If we’re not mistaken the rental costs around KRW 30k but since it’s in high demand, we heard that the shop requires reservation in advance.

There are so many pretty dresses with complete accessories such as gloves, hair clip, hat, umbrella, bag, etc. We can try 2 dresses before deciding which one.

After finish choosing the outfit, we get to use their photo studio with vintage interior for 10 minutes with all the photo props ready to be used in the studio including tripod. You can wear the clothes for whole day and return it before the shop’s closing time.

If you’re looking for new experience other than hanbok rental, vintage clothing rental is definitely an interesting option and it looks good on pictures too.
