There’s always a room for dessert, don’t you agree?? I don’t know why but I always crave for ice cream since my summer trip last July, maybe because it’s always summer in Jakarta. And I couldn’t be more pleased to know that the famous gelato shop Grom from Italy has opened their 1st outlet in Indonesia at Pacific Place mall. (UPDATE: now Grom has opened more shops in Lotte Shopping Avenue Mall and Plaza Senayan)

The 1st outlet in Indonesia is located in Pacific Place Mall 1st floor near Lucaffe right in front of Galeries Lafayette. You can easily spot the shop from its catchy bright blue signage, the display of gelato is very interesting as they display it in pozetti counter display case.

A bit info about the product, every gelato in Grom is 100% natural as it doesn’t contain flavoring, coloring, preservative, emulsifier of any kind which is a good thing to know. Besides that, to create an amazing authentic flavor they are using traditional recipe created in Italy with high quality milk, cage-free eggs and white cane sugar.

As for flavor, Grom offers plentiful choices gelato and fruit sorbet flavors with one special flavor every month and currently the special menu of the month is Crema Di Grom, egg cream gelato with Grom’s corn biscuits and Colombian Teyuna chocolate chips.

AnakJajan tried 4 flavors, Crema Di Grom, Pistacchio, Caffè Espresso (coffee) and Cioccolato (dark chocolate), all of them are amazing and equally delicious.

For me, the main reason that makes Grom better from other gelato brands is the texture, it is sooo smooth and rich in texture yet bold in flavor with perfect amount of sweetness. The Cioccolato or dark chocolate was our number one favorite we definitely will order this flavor again next time. On the other side the gelato is melting pretty fast it was kinda hard to for us to shoot a picture and the cone was not crunchy enough nor tasty we will stick to the cup instead next time.

FYI, all fruit sorbets are FAT FREE!!
There are three flavors of fruit sorbet at Grom, Limone (lemon), Mango and Fragola (strawberry). Just like the gelato, it has a very smooth yet rich texture but tastes refreshing fruity yet tangy at the same time. The mango was extraordinarily unique and delicious we loved it so much! You should give it a try (they provide tester for customer so you won’t end up choosing flavor that you dislike).
