Serving mainly All Day Breakfast and On-Rice dishes, Anakjajan can tell that the menus in Melbourne Kitchen are truly inspired by Melbourne with typical Melbourne’s diverse cuisine that are influenced by the influx of immigrants from all over the world.
Melbourne Kitchen can be found both in Jakarta and Bandung, the outlet in Citos has a casual cozy vibes typical Australian cafe with interesting mural of Melbourne city on the wall. Besides all the signature dishes, Melbourne Kitchen has recently launched a few of new food and beverage menus.

Both Strawberry Lemonade and Virgin Apple Mojito are new drink menus that are perfect to quench the thirst with refreshing fruity taste.
Gyu Tan Don Original IDR 59.3k
Being Gyutandon specialist, Melbourne Kitchen serves signature grilled ox tongue rice bowl dish that is very popular in Melbourne. The ox tongue is thinly sliced and cooked in special savory sauce with spring onion, as for the level of spiciness, you can choose from not spicy, medium, spicy till cranky hot.
The ox tongue was tender with rich depth of flavor, it was good enough to satisfy our cravings for the Melbourne’s famous gyutandon. Besides the original one, they also have Curry and Wasabi Gyutandon.
King of Egg Chiffon IDR 52k
Another dish that reminds us of Melbourne, King of Egg Chiffon, fluffy omelette with chicken charsiu and thick sweet savory sauce served over rice. Gotta love the flavorful tender chicken charsiu with nice grilled aroma, was hoping that the egg could be more fluffy, but other than that, the dish was simply satisfying.
Tiger Prawn Roll IDR 51.9k
New sandwich dish filled with tiger prawn, crab stick, and truffle fries. For the bun, they use wheat bread to give more texture, as for the filling, the prawns were sweet and fresh, the tar tar sauce plays an important role in making the sandwich interesting with its sweet tangy characteristic.
Premium Wagyu Don IDR 69.3k
MAJOR LOVE!!! It’s an exciting menu for us personally since the beef rice bowl reminds AnakJajan of the popular beef steak bowl that is currently happening in Tokyo. Thinly sliced grilled Wagyu beef with onsen tamago (egg) served over rice with truffle oil and special sauce.
The wagyu beef was cooked perfectly with nice pink color in the center, it was succulent tender yet savory with nice hint of truffle oil aroma. Considering the huge portion and amazing taste, AnakJajan must say that it’s worth every penny, each spoonful was delightful.
Please not that all Wagyu Beef and Egg menu are cooked in Medium by default, but you can put your request to the staff if you want it to be cooked according to your preference.
Wagyu Don Sambal Matah IDR 59.8k
Another new menu to cater our Indonesian palates, rice bowl with chunks of Wagyu beef with sambal matah and sunny side up egg. The beef was tender with addictive spicy savory taste, yum!
Overall, visiting Melbourne Kitchen has successfully managed to give AnakJajan nostalgic moment of yummy Melbourne food scene. AnakJajan gotta say that they certainly has one of the best Gyutandon in town, the new Premium Wagyu Don is also highly recommended! Let’s Jajan!
