SELASIH BY DAPUR MAMIH – Jakarta

When there’s a good food, sharing it on our blog is a must! In this case, Sate Domba at Selasih by Dapur Mamih in Senopati area, precisely in Wolter Monginsidi street, South Jakarta.

AnakJajan recently visited Selasih by Dapur Mamih thanks to our friend’s recommendation. The restaurant serves various Indonesian dishes like Lamb Skewer, Chicken Skewer, etc ranging from IDR 7k to IDR 78k. You can easily find the restaurant from the inviting smoky aroma from the grill in front of the restaurant.

Out of many dishes, lamb skewer is their specialty, honestly AnakJajan were sceptical at first since we used to dislike lamb/mutton skewer in Indonesia but after visiting Selasih by Dapur Mamih, we are now a fan of lamb skewer.

Domba Celup Polos IDR 68k
There are a few options for lamb skewer, we heard that Sate Domba Sineret is their favorite item, unfortunately it was soldout during our visit so we opted for Domba Celup Polos.

It came in generous portion (180gr), basically Domba Celup Polos is lamb skewer dipped in restaurant’s special sauce, grilled over charcoal and served on sizzling hot plate. TENDER, that’s our first impression, the meat has no unpleasant smell, it was so soooo tender with all the flavor from the sauce fully absorbed into the meat. The meat is already tasty by its own but for extra spicy sweet and tangy kick, don’t forget to enjoy it with the spicy condiment sauce.

The chicken skewer really hit the spot as well. Uber tender and juicy with wonderful char-grilled aroma in it. It was a stunning dish.

The grilled chicken was alright, tasty but it came in small portion we prefer the chicken skewer more.

Nasi Kecombrang (a la carte) IDR 8.5k
For companion, instead of ordering regular rice, we opted for fragrant rice which was available in two options, Nasi Kecombrang or Nasi Daun Jeruk.

Overall, Selasih by Dapur Mamih do things simple but they do it well. The food has that homecook quality that we are always looking for. Lots of love for their Sate Domba, it wasn’t out first but certainly the best we’ve ever had.
