Earlier this month, AnakJajan had a media trip weekend staycation at Hilton Bandung for the 2nd time exactly 1 year from the last visit.
Hilton Bandung is currently having Culinary Journey promotion from 11-29 March’15 to showcase Asia’s top cuisine Korea, India and Chinese with three guest chef Daniel Chong from Conrad Seoul 11-15 March’15, Chef Ashok from Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum Kerala South India 16-23 March’15 and Chef David from Hilton Shanghai 23-29 March’15 at Punawarman Restaurant dinner time IDR 230k++ per person.
For this 2nd trip, AnakJajan were accompanied by 6 friends from #JKTfoodies. We started our trip early from 8am and were picked up by Blue Bird’s Big Bird prepared by Hilton Bandung. The traffic was smooth and we reached Bandung in less than 3 hours.
AnakJajan stayed at the spacious yet homey 45sqm Deluxe King room with huge bathtub and comfy bed. Feels like home!!
Purnawarman is an all-day dining venue at Hilton Bandung. During lunch time, we had our meal at Purnawarman restaurant trying the new highlighted menu that will be available at Punawarman for lunch in April.
Tuna Dabu Salad
This dish just look so pretty and appetizing with its colorful composition. It is lighly seared tuna, tofu bean sprout salad with dabu dabu sauce. Tuna was fresh and cooked nicely while the dabu-dabu sauce was light and refreshing.
My oh my, looking at the picture of this menu just killing me because it keeps making me drool. Their buntut balado was perfection, rich and warm broth served with rice, emping crackers, green chili sauce, pickles and grilled beef oxtail with balado seasoning. Oxtail was very tender, while the spicy balado chili seasoning was nicely incorporated into the meat.
Surabi is Indonesian pancake made with coconut milk as one of the ingredient. The surabi at Hilton Bandung has a pandan flavoring and served with grated coconut palm sugar topping, coconut milk sauce and crunchy egg roll.
As for the dinner, we had a satisfying Korean food buffet feast still at Punawarman. There were Korean themed decoration everywhere because it was during Chef Daniel Chong’s turn from Conrad Seoul for Culinary Journey event. The event is still on going and you can enjoy Chinese Cuisine specially prepared by Chef David Du from Hilton Shanghai this week until 29th March’15 at Punawarman buffet dinner time (IDR 230k++ per person).
There was a row of Korean food such as Pajeon, Bibimbab, Japchae, Kimchi, Bulgogi, etc and our personal favorite would be the Kimbap (Korean rice roll) and Galbi Jim the super tender and rich beef stew, soo good!
Besides Korean food they also serve wide range of cuisine such as Indonesian, Western, Chinese, Japanese etc too. And of course we didn’t miss the chance to try other cuisine too 🙂 Noodle station and dessert station are two mandatory stations you must not miss, the tomyum noodle soup and rum raisin ice cream were just unbelievably delicious.
The next day, breakfast also at Punawarman, we surely never get bored with Punawarman 😀
Breakfast menu were plentiful and there’s this super cute station for children where they can choose and pick their own food or drink.
Purnawarman opening hours: Sun-Thurs 06.30-22.00, Fri-Sat 06.30-23.00
Our trip ended by having lunch at Fresco. We had a health conscious ‘Nourish Me’ set menu that also will be available at Fresco restaurant in April.
Fresh Orange and Haloumi Salad
Love the vibrant color and pretty presentation of this dish. The salad consist of orange, fresh garden salad with haloumi cheese, balsamic vinegrette, and poached stuffed tomato with mustard dressing. The salad was delicious, it was very light yet refreshing with the fruity sweet tangy dressing.
Marinated Poached Cod Fish
Poached fish marinated with herbs and lemongrass served with blue cheese, roasted spinach, tomato cherry, baby potatoes, asparagus, low fat Buere Blanc and lime sauce. Fish was very tender and damn juicy, but it was too comfort I wish there was more seasoning kick.
Black Berry Merlot Granita
Blackberry granita served with fruits and yoghurt. Love the whole combination, sweet and cold granita with refreshing fruits and creamy yet tangy yoghurt sauce, tasty yet healthy at the same time. Sooo good!!
Fresco opening hours: Mun-Thurs 17.00-22.00, Fri 17.00-00.00, Sat 10.00-00.00, Sun 10.00-22.00.
During our meal, Chef Ashok Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum Kerala South India has arrived for the next Culinary Journal event. He greeted us and cooked two of his specialty. Fish Curry and Grilled Prawn with Tomato Chutney. Both dish were sooo good, I wish we could stay longer and try more dishes from him.
Overall based on our experience twice, Hilton Bandung certainly is one of the most prestigious and cozy place to stay at Bandung starting from the location, room, food and also ambiance. Thank you Hilton Bandung for the hospitality.
