[New Menu] BENEDICT – Grand Indonesia

Talking about all-day breakfast menu, Benedict has been one of our personal top favorites in 2015. Incorporated in The Union Group, this sister restaurant of Caffe Milano, Canteen, Casa, Cork & Screw, E&O, Leowy and Union focuses on hearty all-day breakfast menu inspired by Western, Asian and Mediterranean cuisines. Besides all-day breakfast menu, you can also find other homemade creations such as sausages, breads, pastries and cakes to accompany gourmet artisanal coffee from Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters.

The geniuses behind Benedict tasty dishes are none other than the talented Chefs Fernando Sindu and Ivan Wibowo, two chefs that share the same passion for cooking and also impressive background where chef Fernando has experience as Sous Chef at the Boqueria Restaurant in New York City and Chef Ivan at Noma restaurant that is one of world’s best restaurants in the world.

Continuous innovation is one thing that I personally think is important for F&B business to survive and remain interesting among other new places especially in Jakarta. I’m glad to see the new menu addition at Benedict, let’s see how is it.

Joining the new trend of milkshake with innovative flavors, Benedict has also launched few new milkshakes such as Pretzel & Salted Caramel, Nutella Milkshakes and Strawberry Basil. All of them have the right amount of sweetness and creaminess with interesting combination especially the fruity Strawberry milkshake with hint of basil aroma, it’s an unusual yet suprisingly a successful combination.

Pork Belly Benedict IDR 85k

It’s a killer combination I’m not surprised that it has become the best selling eggs benedict menu at this moment. It has an interesting combination of texture, crispy mac & cheese patty, tender pork belly, juicy mushroom and tomato and creamy from the sauce.

Japanese Benedict IDR 80k
Poached eggs, shiitake rice, chicken hamburg, sauteed horenzo, dynamite hollandaise, side salad
This is our personal favorite, so so sooooooo good we highly recommend you to try it! Full of Japanese flavor, the seasoning is just perfect, savory, sweet, creamy and flavorful altogether. Love the way they seasoned the chicken with sweet savory glaze, rice with savory rich mushroom flavor and topped with addicting torched dynamite hollandaise sauce.

Oxtail Orecchiette IDR 95k
Roasted eggplant, meat ragout, grana padano cheese, oregano
Pasta dish with well seasoned and marinated oxtail meat. The meat is very tender and fully absorbed with rich brown demi glace sauce. A meaty savory rich pasta dish that everyone would enjoy.

Asian Cobb Salad IDR 80k
Lemongrass chicken, lettuce, avocado, tomato, cucumber, soft, boiled egg, vermicelli, crispy noodles, nuoc cham dressing
For refreshing healthy option, Asian Cobb Salad could be a great choice. Vegetables are fresh while seasoning is sweet, sour and a bit spicy.

Benedict Burrito IDR 85k (Chicken)
Choice of mushroom/ chicken chipotle, braised beans, Mexican rice, lettuce, avocado, havanero salsa and shoestring
Another favorite dish here! AnakJajan really enjoyed how well every ingredients compliment each other, the best part would be the tomato based Mexican rice with enjoyable tangy seasoning. This dish is extremely filling it could be a great choice for lunch or dinner. For vegetarian option, you can try the Mushroom version.

Lindt Dark Chocolate & Chocolate Crumbs IDR 30k / Salted Caramel IDR 30k
Ice cream also gets additional new flavors such as Lindt Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel. AnakJajan personally enjoyed the smooth rich texture of their ice cream with perfect amount of sweetness. Lindt Dark Chocolate & Chocolate Crumbs tastes bitter sweet and rich of chocolate flavor while Salted Caramel has a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavor.

Matcha Matcha Cake IDR 60k
Premium Japanese green tea mousse cake with red bean paste and white chocolate. Cake is moist and not overly sweet, perfect for green tea lovers.

Benedict’s Signature Lindt Chocolate Cake IDR 55k
Made from the quality Lindt chocolate, this chocolate mousse cake has just the right amount of sweetness, bitterness and richness we enjoyed it very much till the last bite. The rice crispy crust is a clever addition, it gives the cake an interesting crunchy texture.

Overall, major love all the new dishes at Benedict, our personal favorite would be the Japanese Benedict, Chicken Burrito and Lindt Dark Chocolate & Chocolate Crumbs, soo good we couldn’t get enough of it. Will definitely order it again on the next visit. Let’s Jajan!!
