With the arrival of the rainy season, there’s nothing better than having heartwarming pipping hot soupy dish, don’t you agree? 😉 So, here’s a recommendation for you, Little Sheep Chinese Shabu Shabu or Mongolian Hot Pot. After the first two outlets in BRI II Center Park in Sudirman and Green Central Apartment Complex in Gajah Mada, Little Sheep restaurant has recently opened another outlet in OZONE Eatry in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area available both in AYCE or All You Can Eat and a la carte menu.
AnakJajan have been wanting to try Little Sheep since forever but we were too lazy to drive to Sudirman or Gajahmada but luckily their newest outlet is more accessible for us since it’s located in Ozone Pantai Indah Kapuk, the same building as Song Fa Bak Kut Teh PIK.
To have a festive end of 2016, AnakJajan and friends had our last all-you-can-eat in 2016 at Little Sheep, the AYCE costs IDR 198k++/ person (drinks are not included) with minimum of 2 persons in one table and the time limit for AYCE is 2 hours for each table. By the way, if you’re not interested in AYCE, there’re tons of a la carte menu available too.
For the broth, there are 5 options available, House Special Original, House Special Spicy, Half Half (Original and Spicy), House Special Cooling and Half Half (Cooling and Spicy). AnakJajan opted for their recommended broth, Half and Half Original and Spicy broth made with all kinds of herbs and spices. The original broth has a nice comforting taste and full of umami while spicy broth was very tasteful and bold in flavor, highly recommended!
To accompany the soup, there are 25 items available from meat, tofu, vegetable, mushroom, meat ball, raw la mien noodle, wonton, etc, out of all items, our most favorite and most ordered items would be Beef Striploin and Fresh Beef Balls. FYI, the broth can be refilled as much and as many times as we want.
For the meat they use Australia and New Zealand meat available in 4 cuts, Lamb Leg, Lamb Shoulder, Beef Striploin and Beef Chuck Roll. Both lamb and beef are equally delicious, love the fact that the meat is sliced with just the right thickness, not too thick but not overly thin, the lamb also doesn’t have any unpleasant smell so it’s very enjoyable.
Our friend, creatively created his own version of “bakmi” or dry noodle dish by boiling the lamien in spicy broth, then mix the noodle with garlic flakes, ma la oil and various sauce, Mr. Jajan loved it so much he requested our friend to make another portion. You should try to make it too, since it’s yummeh 😉
Another fun part that me and Mr. Jajan personally love is condiments, they have a small little buffet consists of 20 different condiments for us to create our own dipping sauce or to seasoning such as oyster sauce, fried garlic, soy sayce, mala oil, sesame sauce, bbq sauce, peanut butter, chopped raw garlic, chili, etc.
Overall, AnakJajan had a very satisfying shabu-shabu meal at Little Sheep, in fact we’re craving for it already. Great variety of ingredients, well made and addictive soup that is full of pleasant aroma from the use of spices and herbs, it’s perfect option to warm the body up on rainy season. Let’s Jajan!!
