Started from 1988, Dapur Solo has been a reliable choice when it comes to traditional Indonesian Javanese cuisine particularly Solo cuisine since it’s their specialty. Recently Dapur Solo has opened a new restaurant outlet in Panglima Polim, South Jakarta.
The new outlet is located strategically in Panglima Polim IX street just across All Fresh. The spacious new outlet looks very lovely with traditional Indonesian Batik ornaments. With experience for more than two decades, many of you might be familiar with their traditional Javanese dishes, especially from their famous lunch boxes service, so to answer your curiosity, here are some of their signature items:

Nasi Langgi Kuning Special IDR 39k
Nasi Langgi Kuning served with ayam goreng/empal/bandeng, tering daging, sambal goreng kentang, abon sapi, telur dadar tipis, serundeng kelapa, kering kentang, lalap, kerupuk udang, & sambal
Fragrant turmeric based rice served with festive side dishes. Everything was nicely executed and well-seasoned, it complements each other into one harmonious taste.
Asem-Asem Iga IDR 50k
Huge chunks of beef cooked in spicy sour soup with subtle sweet taste. AnakJajan personally enjoyed it very much and couldn’t get enough of the spicy sour taste. It has a mild spiciness level so it’s very enjoyable, the beef also has nice tender texture.
Selat Solo IDR 36k
This dish is rather hard to find especially in Jakarta. It’s such a harmonious marriage between Javanese and Dutch cuisine. The tender beef stew’s seasoning is more on the sweet side typical Javanese taste and it’s served with mustard and mixed vegetables.

Lontong Solo IDR 36k
Rice cake/lontong with opor kuning broth, shredded chicken, marinated egg, sambal goreng kentang and shrimp crackers. It was decent and enjoyable.

Nasi Gudeg Jogja IDR 38k
One of popular Javanese dish originated from Jogjakarta consisting of jackfruit stew or gudeg, krecek, seasoned egg, and fried chicken. It’s a classic yummy combination that simply cannot go wrong. Love how well seasoned the fried chicken was.

Comro & Misro IDR 5k/pc
Classic Indonesian snack that anyone can enjoy. Golden deep fried cassava cake filled with oncom for savory version (combro) and palm sugar for sweet version (misro). AnakJajan find it very satisfying with the generous filling.

Serabi Solo IDR 18k
Glad to find our favorite Solo’s traditional snack there, it’s basically coconut milk based pancake and it’s available in 3 options there; original, cheese or chocolate. The soft delicate texture with sweet and salty taste from coconut milk just goes really well with a cup of hot tea or coffee.

Bubur Jawa IDR 23k
The classic dessert just brings back nostalgic memories. A sweet and savory coconut milk based gruel or bubur sumsum served with various toppings (ketan hitam, kacang hijau, biji salak, & kolak pisang).
Tumpeng Ayu IDR 35k
This is the newest delivery product by Dapur Solo that surely suits any event like party, meeting, etc. It consists of fragrant turmeric rice with 7 side dishes. Gotta give the packaging two thumbs up, it’s very neat with different compartments for each item so it won’t get mixed with each other. Apparently we can also order customized sticker on the box to suit the event.

Overall Dapur Solo never fails to satisfy when it comes to traditional Javanese cuisine, the taste is more on the sweet side typical Javanese cuisine, very classic nostalgic and enjoyable as always.
