These past few months, AnakJajan have been dreaming of spending holiday in Thailand but we can’t seem to find the right time to visit therefore visiting nearest Thai restaurant in town seems to be the easiest way.

Talking about legit Thai restaurant, AnakJajan think that Jakartans will not run out of options and the newly opened Santhai is totally a nice place to consider, both food presentation and also decor are aesthetically pleasing and instagrammable.

The restaurant has modern and casual tropical theme with fun colorful accents. The pricing is considerably reasonable with vast range of options, here are some of the signature items AnakJajan had:

Peking Duck Sandwich IDR 70k
Double thumbs up for the food presentation, the fluffy buns filled with pecking duck and vegetables are stacked on customized wooden board. The bun itself is very tasty with nice crunchy texture from sesame seeds on top, pecking duck is also nicely seasoned.

Prawn & Chicken Spring Rolls IDR 45k
The spring rolls are filled with minced chicken and prawn mixture on the inside. It’s deep fried until golden and crunchy on the outside, best enjoyed while it’s still warm.

Prawn Satay IDR 70k / Chicken Satay IDR 45k / Tajima Wagyu Satay IDR 60k
Satay or grilled skewers are available in 3 options, all is equally enjoyable but our favorite would be the Wagyu Satay, very tender and meaty at the same time. The food presentation is visually pleasing as well.

Santhai Steamed Fish IDR 190k
This steamed fish dish is very surprising with bold strong yet aromatic seasoning and subtle spicy taste. The use of “bunga kecombrang” or torch ginger is such a clever move since it gives the dish a delightful aroma.

Salmon Head with Tom Yum Soup IDR 99k
First time trying salmon head with tom yum soup since salmon head is not a common ingredient in Thai dish but it turns out to be a memorable one. The fried salmon head has a very soft yet meaty texture with all the rich spicy taste of soup nicely absorbed into it.

Pad Thai (egg noodle/glass noodle) IDR 60k
A visit to Thai restaurant won’t be complete without having Thai’s fried noodle or Pad Thai. You can choose egg noodle or glass noodle for this dish. The seasoning of Pad Thai here is more on the tomato side, well it’s not bad.

Crab Meat with Yellow Curry IDR 70k
The yellow curry is served with vermicelli on the side. The curry itself has a rich smooth taste with chunks of crab meat in it, it’s a tad too salty for us personally but it goes well with vermicelli or steamed rice.
