Jakarta food scene, there’s always something new and interesting to try and explore. Here in Pondok Indah Mall 2, we got you a new recommendation. Lavore Kitchen specializes in modern western and eastern fusion dishes.

Recently AnakJajan visited the relatively new restaurant to try some of their signature dishes, if we’re not mistaken the restaurant has just opened a few months ago.

Situated in South Skywalk with modern and clean concept, Lavore is decorated interestingly with silhouette of tropical plants ornaments inside lighted walls resulting a cozy yet homey vibes.

Smoked Salmon Salad IDR 65k
Fresh salad for starter, the smoked salmon was served with assorted vegetables and homemade goma yuzu dressing. Everything was fresh, the dressing played a major role in making it delicious, it was creamy from the use of goma or sesame but also has hint of fresh citrusy kick from the use of yuzu for great balance. Interesting!

Mushroom Soup IDR 45k
Pureed mushroom with garlic soup served with garlic herb bread. Double thumbs up for the buttery garlicky bread with crunchy crust. As for the soup, it was rich with great consistency and rich appetizing aroma, only a tad too salty for our palate but overall it was still a well made mushroom soup.

Canape Misto IDR 68k
Presentation on point! Looking colorful and appetizing at the same time. It comes in 3 version; smoked salmon, creamy garlic mushroom and taro cheese. Nicely seasoned, fluffy soft bread, perfect for sharing.

Black Brown Spaghettine
If AnakJajan have to name one favorite dish from Lavore, it would be Black Brown Spaghettine. The dish was beautifully executed with chicken, shimeji mushroom, and tobiko in black brown Japanese sauce. Pasta was cooked to perfection, al dente and fully covered in the sauce that has a rich umami and earthy taste of mushroom with subtle creamy and sweet taste.

Linguine Boscaiola IDR 115k
The creamy pasta dish got us hooked immediately on the first forkful with white creamy mushroom sauce, red sliced beef, and truffle oil. Beef was tender, seasoning was spot on, creamy, savory but not too overpowering, tasteful!

Oxtail Fried Rice with Combrang
Their fried rice with basil, oxtail, and green peas has all the addictive components we expected. Delightful wok fire aroma, shiny well seasoned rice with hint of spicy taste, tender generous oxtail. Now I’m drooling while thinking about it.

Bistecca AL Pepe
Beef steak in bourbon pepper sauce served with aranchini and brussels sprout. This dish was DAYUM! Love the fact that they cooked the beef in medium rare level, leaving the meat with incredible juicy texture inside. Aranchini was surprisingly well made too, crunchy on the outside with melting cheese in the middle as surprise. Everything was good on its own with or without sauce.

Carrot Cake
Carrot cake done well, uber moist and rich in spices.

Looking shiny and sexy, the cake tastes as good as it looks, moist and dense with bold dark chocolate taste.

Sometimes fusion dish can be confusing, but overall Lavore nailed it successfully with tasteful dishes. All menu were nicely executed with beautiful presentation. If you happen to be in Pondok Indah area, Lavore could be a nice dining option.
