CHILI’S GRILL & BAR – PIK, Jakarta

One of the well-known Tex Mex restaurants in Jakarta, Chili’s Grill and Bar has recently opened a new outlet in PIK or Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta area.

Chili’s is an American casual dining restaurant chain that serves classic Tex-Mex cuisine. AnakJajan have been wanting to revisit Chili’s since forever, it’s just we seldom go to Sarinah building but lucky us, now we can enjoy it at their new branch in PIK. The restaurant is located right next to The Kingdom Buffet behind Yoshinoya PIK. It is decorated with Southwestern-style concept typical Chili’s interior with wide space.

Strawberry Lemonade Mocktail IDR 42.9k
AnakJajan clearly remember that the portion of food in Chili’s is huge, we decided not to over order, so we only had two dishes and this Strawberry Lemonade Mocktail drink also came in huge jug, it was a refreshing lemonade and strawberry juice combo with just the right amount of sweetness and sourness.

Tableside Guacamole IDR 119k
Freshly made and prepared at the table guacamole consists of fresh avocado, diced onion, salt, diced tomatos, chopped cilantro, fire roasted jalapenos served with warm tostada chips and fresh salsa. You can request how smooth and fine you want for your guacamole when the waiter prepares it.

I’ve been craving for guacamole and very glad that finally my craving was satisfied, the guacamole was fresh, well seasoned and paired perfectly with the crispy chips and tangy salsa.
The ingredients might be fresh and portion also huge, but AnakJajan got to say that the pricing is a bit steep.

One of our must order items in Chili’s would be their sizzling fajitas. This grilled chicken and grilled steak fajitas consists of grilled chicken breast, grilled beef steak, sliced bell peppers, caramelized onion topped, chipotle-garlic butter and chopped cilantro then served with warm flour tortilla and several toppings, mixed cheese, fresh guacamole, pickled onion and jalapeno relish, cumin-lime sour cream, house made pico de gallo and fresh salsa.

To enjoy the fajitas, simply take the flour tortilla, topped with grilled chicken/ steak with toppings of your choice and then roll it. It tasted still as good as we remember, nicely cooked tender grilled chicken and steak with amazing chargrill aroma on the onion and bell pepper, we just still cannot understand why for all the substantial amount of ingredients, they only serve it with three flour tortilla.

Overall, AnakJajan are glad that along with the time, the food scene in Pantai Indah Kapuk has become more and more interesting with more selection of cuisine from Japanese, Korean, Indonesian till Tex-Mex. Let’s Jajan!!
